The Department of Human Anatomy, College of Basic Medical Sciences, Jilin University, is a comprehensive department focused on teaching, scientific research, and experimental studies. It currently has 18 faculty and staff members, including 13 teaching faculty and 5 laboratory technicians. The department is equipped with 6 standardized laboratories covering a total area of 1,100 square meters, featuring advanced facilities such as multimedia systems, stereomicroscopes, mobile specimen display cabinets, and multifunctional cadaver tables. It offers courses including Systematic Anatomy, Regional Anatomy, and Clinical Applied Anatomy for postgraduate students. The department provides multi-level teaching services for twelve programs, including international students, Clinical Medicine (5+3 integrated program, Bethune Medical Class, seven-year program, five-year program), Biomedical Science, Nursing, and Stomatology. It also offers collaborative support to related disciplines in sister institutions.
Since 2019, we have completed the construction of the university-level innovative demonstration courses of “Human Anatomy” and “Regional Anatomy”, as well as the construction of ideological and political courses. Additionally, we have accomplished the construction, promotion, and application of online courses, AI-integrated courses, and digital-intelligent courses for “Human Anatomy”. In September 2021, the Jilin Provincial Body Donation Reception Station and the Jilin Provincial Body Donation Volunteer Service Team were established. In 2024, the team was recognized as the “Outstanding Volunteer Team of Jilin Province” by the Jilin Provincial Red Cross Society. In August 2022, the institution was approved as a member unit of the China Human Brain Bank Alliance. In October 2024, it joined the national major project on “Brain Science and Brain-Like Research”. As of 2025, it has ranked first in Northeast China and entered the top five nationally.
All faculty and staff remain committed to actively exploring new ideas and methods in teaching and research reform, striving for practical innovation and advancement with the goal of building a first-class anatomy department in China and propelling the discipline to new heights.
