To enrich the extracurricular practice of international students in China, broaden their horizons, and inherit and promote the excellent traditional Chinese culture, the College of Basic Medical Sciences of Jilin University organized MBBS international students to attend the 2024 Changchun International Medical and Health Industry Expo (referred to as the “Health Expo”) on the morning of December 7.

        In various exhibition areas of the Health Expo, international students from different countries and regions such as Iran, Pakistan, and Morocco walked among the dazzling array of medical technology products and advanced medical equipment, becoming an eye-catching sight at the expo. The international students observed carefully, listened attentively to the explanations, and from time to time communicated and discussed with exhibitors and professionals. From the latest medical diagnosis technologies to intelligent rehabilitation equipment, from traditional Chinese medicine culture to modern biopharmaceutical innovations, the international students felt the vigorous development and boundless potential of China’s health industry. In the Changbai Mountain Ginseng Exhibition Area, the international students showed strong interest in “Shenhua - Ginseng Large Model”. Dean Wang Fang of the College of Basic Medical Sciences introduced the origin and efficacy of ginseng to the international students and also demonstrated the world's first artificial intelligence ginseng popular science and medical knowledge database. Elina, an international student from Iran, said in an interview with China News Service:“Iran is famous for its essential oils, so I also pay close attention to health products from other countries. After coming to China, teachers told me that ginseng is very powerful. I also tried the ginseng essence cream this time, and my skin felt moist and comfortable.”

        This activity is not only a learning opportunity for the international students, but also an exchange and integration of cultures. While experiencing the development of China’s health industry, they also brought the medical concepts and cultures of their own countries here. It is believed that in the future days, the international students will contribute their strength to the development of the global health cause with more enthusiasm and solid professional knowledge.
