The dragon dances with auspicious clouds to start a new chapter, and red couplets with ink fragrance convey kind words. As the Spring Festival approaches, the festive atmosphere grows stronger. Greeting the Spring Festival and pasting spring couplets are an indispensable part of welcoming the New Year—each pair of spring couplets embodies people’s beautiful aspirations for the coming year. To care for postgraduate students staying on campus and MBBS international students, and create a joyful, peaceful, and festive Spring Festival atmosphere, the College of Basic Medical Sciences held the “Brushes Dance in Flying Style, Red Couplets Celebrate the Spring” activity of writing spring couplets and sending blessings in the lecture hall on the second floor on January 25. Teachers and students gathered together, picked up brushes, and wrote sincere Spring Festival blessings.
Ink Rhyme Greets Auspiciousness, Red Couplets Celebrate the Spring Festival
“On the day when thousands of households are bright, people always replace old peach charms with new ones.” Year after year, spring couplets carry the flavor of the New Year and express people’s beautiful hopes and wishes for it. Teachers and students of the college wrote spring couplets and sent blessings, jointly experiencing the “Chinese New Year” in the couplets.
At the activity site, spring couplet paper, writing brushes, and inkstones were neatly arranged on the tables. The bright red paper filled the air with a strong festive atmosphere. Teachers and students of our college enthusiastically wielded their brushes and applied ink, creating pairs of couplets and the character “Fu” (meaning “good fortune”) that were full of joy and harmony.
MBBS international students of our college also actively participated, eagerly joining in the ranks of writing spring couplets. Stroke by stroke, horizontal and vertical lines—they personally felt the infinite charm of traditional Chinese culture and the strong festive atmosphere. Everyone took group photos as souvenirs, sharing the joyful festive vibe together.
Teachers of the college presented Spring Festival couplets to students at the event. Each pair of auspicious couplets and each vivid “Fu” character were turned into sincere Spring Festival blessings and handed to the students. The scene was filled with joy and prosperity. More than 100 pairs of couplets, over 100 “Fu” characters, and calendars were given out during the activity. The fragrance of ink mingled with laughter, allowing students to feel the boundless charm of traditional culture and the college’s Spring Festival care for students staying on campus.
New Year Brings New Atmosphere, Good Luck Arrives Continuously
As the Spring Festival approaches and the Year of the Dragon is celebrated, festive decorations themed on the Year of the Dragon are a must. A variety of Year of the Dragon lanterns, dolls, and pendants filled the activity site with a strong New Year atmosphere.
These diverse Year of the Dragon decorations were hidden in red envelope blessing card drawing tubes. Teachers and students felt the abundant blessings from the college amid the joy of lottery drawing.
“Wow, who won the grand prize—the super beautiful Year of the Dragon doll?” “What good luck!” Amid the lively activity site, students not only felt the strong festive atmosphere but also the college’s profound care and Spring Festival blessings for students staying on campus.
Writing spring couplets and sending blessings delivers beautiful wishes and warms the hearts of every student on campus. The New Year brings a new atmosphere; we feel happiness in the flavor of the New Year and warmth in the sense of ritual. Amid laughter and joy, we look forward to a more prosperous and bright future, and gather confidence to forge ahead in this season of renewal.
