The Key Laboratory of Pathobiology, Ministry of Education, was established in 2003 based on the Department of Pathology in the College of Basic Medical Sciences, Jilin University. Our laboratory participates in“Project 211” and “Project 985” at Jilin University and has established multiple research platforms,including the “Jilin Science and Technology Innovation Center for Stem Cells and Tissue engineering”. the “Jilin Research center for Tissue Repair and Regeneration of Medical Engineering” and “The Medical Basic Research Innovation Center of Airway Disease in North China, Ministry of Education”. With development and construction, our laboratory has covered five main characteristic research areas: (1) stem cell tissue engineering and regenerative medicine; (2) early diagnosis and molecular therapy for malignant tumors; (3) the pathophysiology of cardio-cerebrovascular diseases and metabolism-related diseases; (4) basic and translational research on severe and emerging infectious diseases; (5) basic and translational research on emergency treatment for tissue injury and trauma repair.

        There are 59 permanent members in our laboratory, including 1 recipient of National Leading Talents, 2 awardees of the Overseas High-Level Talent Introduction Plans, and 2 awardees of the Top Young Scholar of the National Ten Thousand Talent Program. We also obtained one second prize for the National Science and Technology Progress Award, one second prize for the National Natural Science Award. And two second prizes for the National Teaching Achievement Award. Overall, we have established a sustainable team with strong research capabilities and reasonable knowledge and age structure. The laboratory occupies about 7500 square meters and has equipment worth nearly 60.8 million yuan.
